A Chinese court last week upheld an earlier decision to impose the death sentence on former Austerville resident Janice Linden.
She had been sentenced to death last July following her conviction for smuggling 3kg of methamphetamine into Baiyun International Airport in Guangzhou, southern China, in November 2008.
'I could not bring myself to tell our mother because she is so sick,' said Dlamini, who was informed of her sister's incarceration and sentence by the Department of International Relations and Co-operation last year.
'How could I tell her Janice was in jail and going to die?'"
