Scott Price, 31, from Stiles Close, Minster, Isle of Sheppey, was arrested on August 17, 2009 when he arrived to work the night shift.

Scott Price, 31, from Stiles Close, Minster, Isle of Sheppey, was
arrested on August 17, 2009 when he arrived to work the night shift. After a search prison staff found a phone and 3 grams of cannabishe was trying to take in for prisoners.  Price, who had worked at the prison for 10 years, also confessed to smuggling in phones, drugs and booze on three other occasions.He told officers he was asked to carry the contraband by an accomplice who lives on the Isle of Sheppey, and was paid £500 a time.Police are investigating the claims.
Price was given 20 months for one count of taking prohibited articles into HMP Elmley and recieved given another 6 months for a second count of taking prohibited articles into HMP Elmley which will run concurrently.Price was caught following a random search, with Kent Police and the Prison Service screening staff as they arrived for work as pat of a new operation.

Detective Sergeant Paul Irwin from Kent Police’s Serious and
Organised Crime Unit said: “It is these type of offences that
undermine the security within HM prisons and it is the desire of Kent
Police to work closely with the prison service to tackle and dismantle
any group of individuals targeting Kent’s prisons.”
