Paul Akred

Paul Akred went on a spending spree after his partner, Kirsty Lamb, asked him to deposit £660 in her bank account last month.
But Akred, of Park Avenue, Barrow, kept the money and used her bank card and details to withdraw an additional £160, Furness Magistrates’ Court heard on Monday.
Prosecuting, Mr Philip Bates said: “Kirsty Lamb reported him missing in the early evening that day and was concerned for his welfare. But it began to dawn on her what had happened. When he got back, he was arrested on suspicion of theft.”
Mr Bates said police discovered Akred was carrying heroin, which he claimed was from a few weeks before his arrest.
Akred pleaded guilty to stealing £820 on December 7 and possessing heroin on December 8.
Defending, Mr Mike Graham said: “This is the result of a traumatic time they have both gone through together.”
Presiding magistrate, Mrs Sue Brunton, adjourned the case until January 28 for a pre-sentence report.
She said: “We are looking at all options for your sentence.”
Akred was granted unconditional bail.
